AFTER challenging pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao via his Twitter account to face him in a super fight on May 5 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, unbeaten American boxing star Floyd Mayweather Jr. called out Top Rank big boss Bob Arum to make one of the biggest fights in history happen.
The 34-year-old Mayweather Jr. said through his Twitter account that he wants to face Pacquiao, and all Arum has to do to make the fight is to call either his adviser Al Haymon or Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Shaefer. (more)

If Manny Pacquiao doesn’t face Floyd Mayweather Jr. in his ring comeback, renowned boxing trainer Freddie Roach believes that Timothy Bradley would be the best alternate.
“I think that we need some new blood in there, and Bradley poses a little bit of a problem,” said Roach in a report posted at The Ring Magazine website. “So I would rather go with Tim Bradley than Miguel Cotto or somebody else.” (more)

The camp of Manny Pacquiao said there is no economic sense in setting up a bout with Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 5 after the unbeaten American publicly challenged the Filipino champion via Twitter.
Pacquiao’s financial adviser Michael Koncz told The Associated Press on Thursday that a 45,000-seat boxing arena being built in Las Vegas won’t be finished before the end of May and staging the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight in a much smaller venue is “foolish from an economic standpoint.” (more)

BOB Arum has listed four possible fighters as pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao’s next foe for his bout set in June. However, among the four possible opponents, renowned Mexican trainer Ignacio “Nacho” Beristain believes that the 33-year-old Filipino boxing icon will pick a fourth encounter with his ward Juan Manuel Marquez.
“Pacquiao is obsessed with beating Juan,” Beristain said in a report posted at Boxingscene.com. (more)
