Pacquiao formally takes lieutenant colonel rank

Filipino boxing icon and Sarangani Representative Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao was officially elevated to the rank of lieutenant colonel Monday at the Philippine Army headquarters in Fort Bonifacio in Taguig City.

Pacquiao was given the donning of rank ceremony to “publicly recognize” his promotion to the next higher grade in the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Reserve Force. (more)

Congrats LTCol Pacquiao!!You have been with the Military reserve for only 5 years and yuo’re already a LtCol?, That’s a good accomplishment but in promotion purposes, don’t we have a time in services before being promoted to the next rank? Just asking, I am a prior military and we we’re promoted in time in service, accomplishments and educational and pretty sure that time in service is the one we need to pay attention in order to be qualified to be promoted.
