Getting crafty: A magazine holder from scratch

9:03 am Features, Tips

Hey kids since we are presently facing a lot of environmental problems, do you want to help mother earth even in your own simple and creative way? Here’s what Kaboose.com suggests.

Recycle your cereal boxes or any boxes in your house by turning them into attractive magazine holders.

You’ll just need a pair of scissors, empty cereal boxes or any box, acrylic paint and any thing that you’ll use to design your magazine holder.

Here’s how to make it.

1. Cut off top of cereal box and cut at a 45 degree angle down.

2. Clean the surface of the box and paint it with white using an inexpensive sponge brush.

3. Cut out leaf shape from sponge or use a leaf shaped foam stamp to decorate your magazine holder. (You can also put any design you want at the surface.)

TIP: Use heavier detergent boxes so the boxes will be sturdier and hold up to thick magazines.

So kids, please continue to help Mother Earth. At the same time, learn to recycle things by making new crafts.

Kids, we believe that you can start to make a difference even at a very young age. (Jazzel O. Bajenting, UP Mass Comm. Intern)
