9th Pantat Festival

The volume of daily catfish, or locally known as hito, production in Los Amigos, Tugbok in Davao City has increased in the past few months.

Village chief Angelico Santander, Jr. said they have recently produced at least 2,500 kilos of hito daily, higher than the daily produce of 1,500 kilos in 2012.

He said the data is based on the daily production of some 38 members of Los Amigos Aqua Culture Producers Organization (Laacpu) alone, adding that Los Amigos has more than 100 hito growers.

“Paspas gyud ang production. In fact, maka supply na pud mi sa among market outside sa among barangay, outside Davao City (The production continues to increase. In fact, we’re able to supply our market outside our barangay and outside Davao City),” Santander told reporters during the opening of the 9th Pantat Festival Thursday. [Read more]
