HINIRUGYAW FESTIVAL

SARAKIKI is a local term apparently referring to premeditated or frenzied movements which means to allure, to draw with, to attract or exercise attraction, to entice or to win. By its pre-colonial denotation, it means to praise, extol or eulogize spirits of gods. The word does not only ascribe to the ritual or hadang as an activity to gratify the gods, but likewise hadang as the offering or the sacrifice.

A festival based on the epic of Busig-On of Labo town which exemplifies heroism and Bicolano values. The festival features the town’s distinct historical values and sentiments through talent and skills competition featuring the town’s places of interest.

SIPONG FESTIVAL

A colorful and lively mardi gras festival participated in by the different barangays, local and national offices in a choreographed street dancing.

PADUL-ONG

Pageant relating how the Lady of Nativity became the patroness of Borongan.

A homecoming party with returning Surigaonon.

TAMBOBO FESTIVAL
September 8- September 10 | Ajuy, Iloilo
Tambobo is a Hiligaynon term for a storehouse, warehouse or a storage structure for agricultural products, or other goods that are stored and kept until a demand or need arises.

MINULUAN FESTIVAL

A three-day celebration in commemoration of the death anniversary of the city’s patron saint San Nicholas de Tolentino

PADIGOSAN FESTIVAL

The 28th Anniversary of the establishment of the civil government of Quirino

LINGGO NG BULAKAN
September 8- September 15 | Malolos, Bulacan
A one week celebration featuring the history of Bulacan, exhibits of Bulacan products. Cooking contest, on the spot painting contest, and many others.

VOYADORES FESTIVAL
September 8 | Daraga, Albay
A street re-enactment on the transfer of the image of Our Lady of Peñafrancia from her home shrine to the Naga Cathedral. The festivity is named after the devotees who accompany and carry the Virgin’s image.

KASADYAAN FESTIVAL
September 9 11 | Tupi, South Cotabato
An annual celebration of the foundation anniversay of the Municipality of Tupi. Festivities includes street dancing and a parade of “karitons” (craft) drawn by carabaos.

BANOK-BANOK MARADJAO KARADJAO FESTIVAL (STREET PAGEANTRY)
September 9 | Surigao City, Surigao del Norte
A day-long Mardi Gras marked by street dancing festivity featuring the ethnic Mamanwa dance.

PARADA NG KAKANIN / FESTIVAL OF NUESTRA SENORA DE ARANZAZZU

Celebration of the foundation day of Nuestra Señora de Aranzazu, afterwhich, delicacies are given to all for free.

FLOMLOK FESTIVAL
September 9 11 | Polomolok, South Cotabato
Flomlok, from a B”laan word whhich means “hunting ground”. The people of Polomolok celebrates this by showcasing the local products and a mix of socio cultural activities. Polomolok is also home of DOLE Philippines Inc.

MANDALA FESTIVAL
September 9 | Midsalip, Zamboanga del Sur
The festival aims to preserve the local Subanen tradition of Midsalip. Mandala is a Subanen term which means harvest.

SAPATOS FESTIVAL

This is a celebration of the ingenuity and craftsmanship of our own SAPATEROs. It gives due importance to their hardship and the local shoe industry itself.

FIREWORKS DISPLAY

Held after the stationary dancing competition as the Bonok-Bonok (events) closing ceremony.

A yearly thanksgiving for the patron, “Impong Kulas” de Tolentino”. This yearly festival is similar to the celebration of Ati-Atihan in Kalibo, Aklan and Sinulog of Cebu City.

KARANZA FESTIVAL

A thanksgiving festival in honour of the city’s patron saint Sto. Tomas de Villanueva.

SAMBUOKAN FESTIVAL

From Mandaya word “sambuok ” – unity celebrating the development of the area thru the united efforts of the people and thanksgiving for bountiful harvest

SAYAW LAHI FESTIVAL

A festival of entertainment featuring all native dances performed on the streets by schools and barangay communities.

REPEAT PERFORMANCE OF THE BONOK-BONOK FESTIVAL WINNERS
September 11 | Surigao City
After the thanksgiving mass held at the City Cathedral, winning contingents of the Bonok-Bonok Festival will have its repeat performance from the City Cathedral to the City Hall grounds.

LAYAG FESTIVAL

A week-long festivity coinciding with the feast of Our Lady of Peñafrancia. The festival name was taken from a local word “layag” or sail boat which is a primitive means of transportation of the early people of Rapu-Rapu.

PEÑAFRANCIA FESTIVAL
September 16 | Naga City, Camarines Sur
A religious festival honoring the feast day of Our Lady of Peñafrancia, Patroness of the Bicol Region.

KASUOTANG FILIPINO EXHIBIT & FASHION SHOW

ARAW NG SIQUIJOR WITH SOLILI
September 17 23 | Siquijor, Siquijor
Araw ng Siquijor is the province’s charter day celebration with week long activities that starts on the 12th of the month. Parade, trade fairs, sports competition, cultural presentations performed by the different schools, search for Miss Siquijor were the main features of the event which was capped with a SOLILI street dancing, depicting the marriage ritual of the Siquijodnons.

TALAKUDONG FESTIVAL (STREET DANCING)

A neo-ethnic cultural spectacle show in hilarious street dancing that mainly features exhibition of “Talakudong” accompanied by exotic sound of percussion instruments.
