Arroyo lawyer slapped with tax evasion

THE Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) filed tax evasion charges Thursday against a lawyer of former First Gentleman Jose Miguel “Mike” Arroyo for not remitting P12.32 million to the government from 2006 to 2009.

A former member of the Board of Trustees of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), Jesus Santos, was slapped with four counts of willful failure to supply correct and accurate information in his Income Tax Return (ITR) and to pay the correct tax for the said taxable years. (more)
