Wenceslao: Putting Gloria to sleep

YOU’LL know the kind of “threat” former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is facing by the name of the plot supposedly hatched to kill her: “Oplan: Put the Little Girl to Sleep.” The alleged plot was bared recently by the Big Horn herself, Arroyo spokesperson Elena Bautista-Horn. The way the plot’s name was phrased was even more childish than amateurish.

I like the way the teenager-voiced Bautista-Horn pronounced the phrase on TV. It made the comic touch more apparent, and made the plot’s name sound like the title of a kiddie lullaby.

Party-list Rep. Antonio Tinio, in a Philippine Daily Inquirer report, said: “We must remember that we’re dealing with someone who fabricated election results to maintain her grip on power, and therefore has no scruples when it comes to lying to the public to justify her actions. Put this story to bed and put Arroyo in jail.” I say amen to that. (more)
