Emata: Madam Glo deserves respect

MADAM Glo is not an ordinary woman in the streets. She is not someone who exchange glances with anyone in the market place. She is not a woman you will meet anywhere, day in and day out. She was a product of a great American university, Georgetown University, where Pres. Bill Clinton attended too during his college days. In short, the Madam was President of a country for two terms. And she was a daughter of an ex-president of the Philippines. She came from a noble family, very prominent and respectable. Yes, she is a daughter of then Pres. Diosdado Macapagal and Dr. Evangeline Macapagal.

Today, she is in hot water. She is critically ill and being pushed to the wall on alleged criminal cases that are not yet there. She is threatened in public. She is adversely publicized as if she were a thief. She was pictured as a person who was convicted of some great crimes. She was humiliated, ridiculed and embarrassed beyond compare. Today, she is down. She is crucified and nobody seems to push her up except her husband.

I believe Madam Gloria deserves respect too like anyone of us. In the first place, she is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a competent court. She deserves laws, regulations under the Constitution. The court of law has still to listen to her side of cases that are planned against her. Right now, she is cleaned, innocent and a person who can stand upright against criticisms. (more)
