Comelec official’s house strafed

THE police are conducting thorough investigation to identify the lone gunman who strafed the residence of an election officer in Zamboanga del Norte, an official said Wednesday.

Poll officer bares ‘prohibited acts’ during campaign period

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The provincial election officer explained Wednesday the various forms of election propaganda that are prohibited come election period.

Lawyer Lydia Pangilinan said any candidate who would violate any of the prohibited acts under the prevailing Commission of Elections (Comelec) resolutions, rules and regulations governing the conduct of 2013 midterm elections will be dealt with in accordance with the law. In a latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey on preferred 2013 senatorial candidates conducted on January 17 to 19, members of the administration coalition entered the so-called “Magic 12″ but none of these bets are part of the ruling Liberal Party (LP), which President Benigno Aquino III chairs. MARAWI CITY — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has successfully cleaned the list of registered voters in Lanao del Sur.
