Citing a 2009 Supreme Court (SC) ruling, the Kabataan party-list group said Monday that the deadline set by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on the registration of voters is illegal.

Actor-turned-politician Aga Muhlach asked Monday the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to dismiss for lack of merit the disqualification case filed against him on allegations that he is not a natural-born Filipino citizen.
Muhlach, who is running for the fourth congressional district of Camarines Sur in the May 2013 elections, was accused of a certain Gilmar Pacamarra of being a dual citizen, on account of his father, who had been given recognition by the Spanish government of being its citizen. THE 2012 Giant Lantern Festival is now set as the city of San Fernando, Robinsons Land Corporation, together with regional television network CLTV 36 signed an agreement last Friday.
The signing of the memorandum of agreement (MOA) was witnessed by members of the 2012 GLF executive committee chaired by Architect Yolanda Reyes.

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — For almost a week, they again came jumping, leaping, singing and dancing into the limelight — that is, both frogs and humans — as the City of San Fernando celebrated the 10th “Pyestang Tugak” or Frog Festival which culminated with a grand show of Fernandino talent Saturday at Robinsons Starmills.
Themed “Pamakibage, Pamanantabe, Pamia-abe,” this year’s festival, as Mayor Oscar Rodriguez aptly put it, “reminds us of the humble beginnings from where we came and the heights that we have scaled toward a better life through giant strides, much like those vigorous leaps that frogs are capable of making. KABATAAN partylist regional coordinator Mark Anthony Simbajon urged the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to be true in cleansing partylist system for the May 2013 polls.
“It simply won’t work if the Commission on Elections (Comelec) will not be ridding-off, too, Malacañang-backed partylists, for it will be defeating the primary purpose of cleansing the system which is ridding-off bogus party-lists and groups – which are neither the marginalized nor the underrepresented,” Simbajon said.
